Hot Yoga on the Cheap

By MOLLY TEITELBAUM

Getting started with yoga can be a pricey endeavor: $100 yoga pants, plus the “required” matching sports bra and mat. So when it comes to the actual classes? The cheaper, the chicer. Monday through Friday mornings at 8:45 A.M., Moksha Yoga offers hour-long Charity Yoga classes for just $5 minimum donation. You can also dabble in their Introductory Special (one week of unlimited classes for only $20) if you’re still trying to see if sauna yoga is right for you.

Centrally located on St. Laurent, Moksha Yoga is clean, bright, and tranquil. This studio is known for its hot yoga, which takes place in a steaming hot room (we’re talking between 38°C and 41°C). Moksha’s Charity Yoga is suitable for folks of all skill levels. Don’t forget to bring a towel and water bottle — you’ll need it.

After twenty minutes, you’ll be doing the soaring eagle and schvitzing in places you never knew existed.
