An Apple a Day from myAntidote.ca

By ERICA LEIBNER

We all know that the S.A.D. (standard American diet) of meats and sweets is bad news. But what’s a girl to do when the healthiest item in her lunchbox would still make Jamie Oliver cringe? Get on the computer and head to the virtual supermarket that is myAntidote.ca, of course.

The site is the brainchild of Ewelina Piasecka and Jadwiga Zakrzewska who, upset by Montreal’s lack of access to local, organic produce, took matters into their own hands. They created a company that links conscientious consumers with the products of local farmers, businesses, bakeries, & restaurants.

Orders are picked, packed, & delivered to your doorstep (next day, if the order is placed before 2 P.M., or within two days if the order is placed after that time). Surprisingly, you can expect to pay the same amount you might spend at a regular grocery store, or even less, since this operation’s overhead costs are so low. And delivery is free if you spend $19.99 or more.

So say goodbye to checkout-counter lines and stubborn shopping carts, and hello to a whole new way of filling your fridge.

Deliveries are made throughout the Island of Montreal and as far as Vaudreuil-Dorion, the South Shore and Laval.
