Next time you and your girlfriends plan a movie marathon, skip past [insert big-name chain video store]. If you want a royal selection for plebian prices, pay Queen Video a visit instead.
Its three locations, on Queen (go figure!), College, and Bloor, offer Torontonians the best selection of movies in the city, from virtually every name in film history and from every corner of the world. These places are literally bursting with movies – since it would be impossible to fit all the DVD cases in the relatively small stores, the staff have saved room by displaying dozens of rows of just sleeves in the middle.
Queen Video also has a huge box set collection, cool concert DVDs, those “I never thought I’d find this again” movies, and an entire wall dedicated to the Criterion collection. A new release can be rented for two days for $4.20, and a seven-day rental goes for $3.54.
So if you’re tired of walking into a video store and being bombarded by Vampire merchandise and the same movies over and over again, go to Queen Video for a selection of films that is only fit for, well, a queen!
