Play Dress Up at Montreal’s Eva-B

By STEPHANIE LOPEZ

“Would you like a tea on the house while you browse?”

Likely the first question you’ll be asked as you step into Eva-B. Though it may seem overwhelming, making your way through the shop’s racks and racks of vintage clothes, shoes, purses, accessories, and books, fear not! You’ll quickly get your bearings in this labyrinth. Whether or not you’re looking for something in particular, you might spend some time scavenging before you find it.

At Eva-B, they know that the experience can be a little exhausting. So you can take a break at the cozy counter and enjoy sandwiches, salads, baked goods and coffee for great prices. Sip a cappuccino ($2.25) as you enjoy the funky vintage décor and the delightful Bob Dylan tunes.

Once you’re perked up by the coffee, step into the back room for a gigantic pile of clothes, with each item only $1. Get ready for some exciting rummaging! Also, keep this store in mind for your next dress-up party, as there’s a costume section with a great selection available for rental or sale.

But the best deal at Eva-B is that you can bring your own clothes, haggle out a price with one of the staff and then choose between two options: get the cash for your stuff or get double the amount they’d give you, but as store credit. And if you don’t want to get rid of anything but still would like a discount, go to their website for a $5-off coupon on any piece that’s more than $10. They want you to be savings-savvy!

Cheap finds in a friendly, comfy environment – totally a Bandit’s paradise.
