Everyone living in Toronto knows how fabulous it is in the summer. The free events seem endless, each one better than the last. But none of them can hold a candle to Pilaros Taste of the Danforth, Canada`s largest street festival. It attracts a whopping 1.2 million visitors and is currently in its 17th year of production. Taking place on the weekend of August 6th-8th, there’s a reason why this GreekTown affair is at the top of everyone`s summer to-do list. Taste of the Danforth won’t disappoint even the toughest of critics, with its endless selection of food, music, entertainment, contests, prizes and more.
You can groove to the music of the Toronto Symphony’s brass quartet, laugh at Second City’s interactive comedy, meet some of last season’s winners from “So You Think You Can Dance Canada” or volunteer for a makeover from Smashbox Cosmetics. Or learn how to belly dance, taste your way through the beer and wine gardens, and then enter for a chance to win a trip for two to Greece.
And, before you pass out from exhaustion, don’t leave without indulging in the vast array of the city’s best food (and drink), from the dozens of stations that will be set up for the occasion. Souvlaki and baklava and ouzo, oh my!
