Holiday Wanderlust

BY ERICA LEIBNER

‘Tis the season to be jolly (and max out your credit card). But if you want that bill to be a little more manageable, get to the quirky-cool East-End ‘hood Leslieville on Thursday, November 18th, from 6 P.M. to 10 P.M. for tons of freebies and fun finds at fantastic prices. Unleash your inner travel bug by shop-hopping between each of 39 Queen East businesses taking part in this fun-filled soirée, where you can enjoy refreshments, dozens of deals and give-aways that’ll make you giddy.

Take advantage of the sleet-free streets and enjoy some of the most unique stores the city has to offer. Make sure to check out the eclectic vintage photos and postcards for sale at Winkel, one of the area’s beloved spots. The front window of the store will feature screenings of vintage holiday specials (Christmas with Sonny and Cher, Charlie Brown Christmas) and a photography exhibit by Faye Liolis. Also, everything in the store will be 10% off.  And don’t forget to stop by Lil’ Bean and Green, where specialty coffee drinks will be served and you can decorate your own cookie (with or without your baby cousin) at their gingerbread-people decorating table.

Before the weather gets frightful, go take part in the festivities. And since you’ve someplace to go, you better hope it doesn’t snow, doesn’t snow, doesn’t snow.
