With a gritty motto like “always honest, not always pretty,” we just knew that the Female Eye Film Festival was going to be right for Toronto’s Bandits.
Celebrating its 9th year as Ontario’s only indie film festival to exclusively showcase female-directed films, the Female Eye Film Festival begins March 16th. Kicking off the event is a selection of experimental and avant-garde shorts, and on March 17th is the Gala Feature, Amazon Falls, directed by Katrin Bowen and starring April Telek. Tickets for screenings are priced at a modest $8 at the door.
76 films will play this week, and with honourary attendees such as director Mary Harron (American Psycho) in the audience, the Female Eye Film Festival is a fascinating steal that we’ll be thanking the Bandit gods for.
Be sure to check out the filmmaker panels, roundtable discussions, and workshops that are also happening this week. It’s a chance to satisfy your sophisticated palette for the arts and rub elbows with industry pros at great prices.
