World Class Bakers

By SARA POTKONJAK

So, we’re sitting here trying to think of a catchy way to tell you about World Class Bakers, but the truth is we’re too full from their delicious treats to think clearly. We don’t think there’s much to say other than, hands down, this is one of Toronto’s best bakeries and definitely its biggest best kept secret – until now.

This hotspot at Christie and St. Clair West smells nothing short of heavenly, and do the goods ever deliver! Perfect coffee and lattes, fresh treats baked not daily but hourly, anything from breakfast to pizza for $6 to $10, and samples, samples, samples galore!

Though their rugalachs are all the local St. Clair rage (the lady behind the counter was so confident in them she even gave us one for free), it was definitely the cheese croissants that made us return – later the same day, that is. These croissants are worthy of being on anyone’s bucket list.

Aside from the great assortments of breads, home-cooked meals, and cheesecakes, World Class Bakers is also an awesome spot to study (they’ve got free wi-fi), and maybe catch some local events like spoken word performances (snapping your fingers Beat-style is optional, of course).
