You’ll Fall Fast For The Slow Room

The Slow Room

BY SHIRAN TEITELBAUM

You can’t walk a block in Toronto without passing a dozen indie cafes. But let’s be frank – few make a mean Americano.  Nestled between Lit and The Common, this College and Dovercourt gem has it all going on.

We’d wager it has something to do with The Slow Room’s no nonsense attitude.  Indeed, veteran barista Drew Randall is all business as he artfully works the La Marzocco Linea espresso machine, steaming milk like a magician and serving smooth espresso shots. And the elegant latte art has its charm, too.

Local carnivores go crazy for Porchetta Saturdays – a savoury sandwich (often sold-out) that will put your hangover to bed. If you haven’t already, be sure to add the gluten-free pistachio cookie ($3) to your Bucket List. Trust us – it’s the best thing that’s happened to cookies since the Oreo.
